Arm-ECS at the Arm Research Summit 2018

The Arm-ECS Research Centre had a strong presence at the Arm Research Summit 2018.

A total of 9 staff and students from ECS/Southampton attended the 3-day event at Robinson College, Cambridge.

Dr Geoff Merrett gave a presentation in the main hall on the runtime management approaches that have been developed in the PRiME project.

Posters were presented by Tim Daulby, Ilias Vougioukas, Matthew Walker, Mahmoud Wagih, Dr Basel Halak and Yunpeng Cai, as well as by Arm-ECS alumni Amit Singh.

Tim Daulby’s poster on ‘Power Napping’ was ranked in the top-5 posters presented at the event, according to the “People’s Choice” award.

Arm-ECS researchers gave a demo of their research into Transient Computing Systems during every coffee breaks, and received significant interest from attendees throughout the event.

PhD student Ilias Vougioukas was one of four panel members for the “Arm Research Collaborations: Fueling Innovation” session. Ilias presented his experiences from being a PhD student in the Arm-ECS Research Centre, but one who is primarily based at Arm Research in Cambridge. Watch Ilias’ presentation below:
