Dr Lanre Shittu

Research Fellow

Lanre Shittu is a Researcher working with Prof. Ian Williams in the area of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Lanre has a background in Environmental Management with interests in waste reduction, resource management, sustainable development and the circular economy. His experience and skills include environmental impact assessment, environmental auditing, as well as environmental awareness and pro-environmental behaviour change.

His current work revolves around urban mining of electronic waste from distinct anthropogenic spaces. Working with the Arm ECS Research Centre he will be looking more deeply at the key processes of manufacturing for electronic devices, the impact on the world’s natural resources, carbon release, and the broader environment impact. The work is intended to help identify the “hot spots” in value chains that the UN Sustainability Goal 12 on Responsible Production and Consumption sees as key to making critical change in our industry.
