Charles is a senior research assistant for the PRiME project at the University of Southampton where he received his 1st class hons BEng Electronic Engineering degree. His work focuses on power and performance optimisation of computer vision applications on heterogeneous embedded systems. Additionally, he is involved in the development of software frameworks for runtime management of many-core systems. He has interests in approximate computing, stereo vision, and machine learning for embedded devices. Through a HiPEAC Collaboration grant, he completed a 3 month internship at Arm Research, Cambridge where he worked on the optimisation of machine learning algorithms for Arm mbed platforms.
