Lei Xun obtained a Master’s degree (with Distinction) in System on Chip Design at the University of Southampton between 2016 and 2017, and Bachelor’s degree (with 2.1) in Electronics Engineering at The University of Sheffield between 2013 and 2016.

Currently, he is pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Professor Geoff Merrett, Professor Long Tran-Thanh and Professor Bashir M Al-Hashimi, at the Cyber Physical Systems research group of The University of Southampton. He is also affiliated to the International Centre for Spatial Computational Learning.

His research is focused on software and hardware co-design for the efficient acceleration of embedded machine learning, enabling and managing the runtime performance scaling of ML models.
