Karunakar Basireddy Successfully Defends PhD Thesis

Congratulations to Karunakar Basireddy

Congratulations to Karunakar Basireddy, who has successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Runtime Energy Management of Concurrent Applications for Multi-core Platforms”.

Karunakar’s research investigated energy efficient runtime management approaches for multiple applications executing on modern heterogeneous multi- and many-core platforms, and led to a number of conference and journal articles. His research was undertaken as part of the EPSRC PRiME research programme.

Karunakar was co-supervised by Dr Geoff Merrett, who commented:

“I’m delighted that Karunakar passed his viva subject to minor amendments, reflecting the quality of his research and dedication that he has put into it. I wish him the best of luck for the next stage of his career.”

Karunakar has accepted a position as a Performance Architect (Graduate Engineer) at Arm in Bangalore, India, where he will be working on an investigation into next-generation CPU microarchitecture performance features through workload-driven exploration.
